Vocational Specialist

CPC is looking for a full-time vocational specialist to work as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team that will work in collaboration with the consumer in developing and executing a care plan with a holistic approach in our PACT Team in Red Bank, NJ.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral science related area and 2 years of experience with vocational assessment job preparation or placement/job coaching with SMI clients.
  • Valid NJ driver's license with clean record.
  • Master's degree in Psych Rehab or Occupational Therapy is preferred.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination required

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

The Vocational Specialist's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Complete assessments and/or assist other staff in completing assessments in a timely and comprehensive manner as required by CPC and regulatory agency policies. Assessments are age appropriate and culturally sensitive and address the needs as outlined in the agency assessment tools.
  • Collaborate with consumers and their families to provide the following services; relapse prevention, basic daily living skills including money management; development and support of social and recreational activities; employment training and job acquisition; psycho education and support, family and significant others education and support; consumer advocacy; crisis intervention; housing needs, financial resources; transportation for consumers in agency vehicles with adherence to agency policies and procedures; among others. Work with consumers on goals set forth in individual recovery plans.
  • Advocate for PACT consumers in developing employment opportunities with local employers. Teach and assist consumers to write resumes.
  • Documentation responsibilities include accurate and timely completion of uniform clinical record documentation as per the agency's policies and procedures.
  • Participate in an interdisciplinary team process to ensure the provision of services and/or linkage with requisite services to consumer and family or significant others.
  • Attend required annual training as mandated by DMHS standards.
  • Understand and work to achieve fidelity scale goals for program.
  • Facilitate employment readiness groups.
  • On/off site job coaching.
  • Travel and train consumers to use public transportation to/from job site.
