Chief Clinical Officer (Full-Time, Monmouth County)

As a leader in providing integrated behavioral health care and special education services, CPC Integrated Health serves a diverse population of youth and adults through a comprehensive system of care designed to provide client-centered, inclusive, and equitable services for those with complex needs.

CPC is a Certified Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) demo and expansion site. Licensed by the state of NJ and accredited by the Joint Commission, the agency provides high quality and outcomes-oriented services across five sites located in Monmouth County which serve over 13k individuals from Monmouth and Ocean counties yearly. Currently, CPC employs 375 staff and has a 40-million-dollar operating budget.

Job Summary:

CPC is seeking a dynamic and seasoned leader to become Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) on our Executive team. This person will assume responsibility for several locations and will lead the expansion of services for children, adolescents, and families. 

Reporting directly to the CEO, the CCO will be responsible for strategic planning, program development, and the clinical oversight, training, and accountability of staff in their assigned programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Independently oversee and lead clinical operations across several locations and programs utilizing extensive prior experience and sound clinical and administrative judgment to make strategic decisions that align with the agency's goals. Multiple levels of supervisors and managers will report to CCO through the program's table of organization. CCO provides high level oversight as well as hands on involvement in program operations as needed. Functions as a "servant leader". 
  2. Foster an integrated approach to care through the CCBHC model.
  3. Develop strong relationships with community partners, conduct workshops and training in a variety of forums, and represent the agency at events and through networking across the state and nationally.
  4. Provide clinical training for CPC staff on evidence-based practices such as DBT, MST, MI, especially as it relates to the treatment of children and families.
  5. Monitor and utilize data to achieve desired and mandated outcomes and performance metrics.
  6. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 
  7. Develop and manage budgets, optimize resources, and promote fiscal responsibility.
  8. Collaborate effectively with other executive team members to align clinical and operational goals to achieve desired outcomes.
  9. Direct and support activities related to high risk, complex individuals, and support programs in assuring safety 24/7/365.
  10.  Participate in the development of an agency-wide strategic plan. Assume a pivotal role in the development and implementation of children's service expansion.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, the candidate must have completed an advanced degree in a behavioral health-related field such as social work, psychology, etc. and be licensed at the highest level including LCSW, LPC, Psy.D, etc.

AND, have completed at least ten years working with complex populations in community-based settings, five of which must include clinical and administrative supervision and program management. Must have experience with populations served by CCBHC,  including those with SMI, individuals with SUD and co-occurring disorders, crisis services and youth with SED and their families.

The preferred candidate will possess the above qualifications with additional years' experience in senior management roles including time spent specially addressing the needs of SED children and youth and families in a non-profit, community-based setting. Experience with models of integrated care is a plus. 

Experience with public speaking, presenting at conferences and community events and expertise in professional networking would be beneficial.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders is essential. 

Organizational skills and expertise in technology is critical. Comfort with change and the desire to be a continuous learner is helpful. A good sense of humor and the ability to lead with humility is crucial for long term success in this position.
