Behavioral Health Clinician II

Position Summary: The Behavioral Health Clinician II provide individual, group, family, substance abuse and specialty group therapy to clients and their families; prepares a treatment plan; provide case management services; completes bio-psychosocial evaluation and all clinical paperwork; completes assessments and documents ongoing treatment and discharge planning. The Behavioral Health Clinician II may assume administrative and clinical supervision and other activities.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess Master's Degree in clinically related field such as social work or counseling.
  • Must possess LCSW or LPC.
  • If Psychologist, must be licensed by State of New Jersey.
  • Must have appropriate licensure specific to program regulations.
  • Must have prior experience providing treatment services to adults, children, or adolescents.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices.
  • Supervisory certification.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete Assessment: Each client receives a thorough and complete biopsychosocial assessment at the time of admission or within the time frame established by the regulatory agency for the program to assess the client's history and identify treatment needs.
  • Provide Treatment Modalities: The Behavioral Health Clinician I provides treatment modalities as indicated in the Treatment Plan therapeutic interventions, which are client-centered and include family in the process.
  • Provide Basic Coordination of Services: The Behavioral Health Clinician I provides basic coordination of services as needed or required by the Treatment Plan to coordinate treatment services.
  • Clinical Record Documentation: The Behavioral Health Clinician I provides accurate and timely documentation of treatment provided to assigned client and their families to assure a quality record.
  • Supervision: May provide clinical supervision or program coordination.
  • Meet regularly with supervisors and Provide clear direction to staff.
  • Effectively identifies staff competencies and develop plan to improve performance. Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Will serve on professional committees as required by the administration and in keeping with professional standards.

  • Participate in all mandated training by DMHS contracts or appropriate licensing board.
